1. Who we are
Keep Old Writing is operated by Bagadim, who acts as the data controller for the personal data described in this notice. If you have questions about your data, contact us via the support details provided at checkout.
2. What we collect

- Usage & device data — IP address, browser/device identifiers, and basic usage telemetry used to keep the service secure and improve it.
- Support messages — anything you send us when asking for help.
Payment details are collected and processed directly by Paddle (see below); we never see or store your card numbers.
3. Why we use it & legal basis
- Providing the service — transcribing your cards and generating your cookbook (performance of our contract with you).
- Security & fraud prevention — protecting the service and its users (legitimate interests).
- Product improvement — understanding how the service is used (legitimate interests).
- Customer support — responding to your requests (performance of contract / legitimate interests).
- Marketing email — only where you've asked to hear from us (consent, which you can withdraw anytime).
4. Who we share it with
- Paddle (Merchant of Record) — for the sale of our product, subscription management, payments, tax compliance, and invoicing.
- Service providers / subprocessors — hosting, storage, AI transcription, and analytics providers that process data on our behalf.
- Professional advisers — legal and accounting, where needed.
- Authorities — where required by law.
Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
5. Retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above, then delete or anonymise it. Your uploaded images and projects can be removed at any time by starting over in the app.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority. To exercise any right, contact us and we will respond within one month.
7. Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect your data. Your uploaded photos are stored privately and are not shared publicly.
8. Cookies
We use essential cookies and local storage to keep the service working (for example, remembering your project on your device). If we add analytics or marketing cookies, we will update this notice and let you manage your preferences.
